Step 1

Purchase a flowering plant of your choicer. Find and purchase a hanging basket for your pot, and don't forget to buy the hanging hooks.

Step 2

Decided where you want to hang your flowering plants. Most flowering plants like decent amounts of sun, so in front of a window facing east, west or south in the home is an ideal spot.

Step 3

Use a stud finder to locate the ceiling joist above the window.Once you've located the ceiling joist, make the spot with a pencil.

Step 4

You'll need to drill a hole in the ceiling joist. Keep the hole size about half the diameter of the threaded portion of the hanging hook.

Step 5

Using pliers, screw the hanging hook into the hole.

Step 6

Place your flowering plant in the hanging basket. Place the hanging basket on the hook.
