My son was on his way to orientation for his future law school program in Massachusetts, so the whole family decided to tag along to see Boston in the winter. Seeing this historical city in the snow was truly spectacular! Although we had to wrap up warm it was really like walking through a winter wonderland and we took so many stunning photographs that I will cherish forever.

Kauai

This beautiful Hawaiian island is extremely busy during the summer so is perhaps best experienced during the winter. Much quieter and with much more reasonable rates, you can easily find virtually deserted beaches during the winter time. The weather is perfect as well, not too hot but definitely still very pleasant warm temperatures. This island is known for its beauty and calming atmosphere but to avoid the crowds it is wise to take a visit during the winter.

Key West

Key West, Florida boasts stunning beaches and gorgeous weather all year round! This tourist friendly destination is still hot enough in the winter for beach lounging and the rates are far more reasonable during this season as opposed to the spring and summer. Snorkeling and scuba diving is popular here and there is also a vibrant night life scene throughout all seasons.

Orlando

Another Floridian destination, Orlando is definitely worth visiting during the winter time. As long as you avoid the Holiday season (as it gets extremely busy during this time, especially the most popular theme parks) you will find yourself being able to get cheap flights, reduced hotel rooms and significantly smaller lines for rides at the parks compared to the rest of the year. The quietest time is usually January, when you can take advantage of the quiet theme parks and often dramatically reduced hotel prices.

Big Bear

The winter may not be the quietest time to visit Big Bear, California, but it is the best time. Enjoy plenty of snow and a variety of slopes to ski and snowboard from. Big Bear is definitely busy in the winter, but this can create a lively and exciting atmosphere, and allows for a fun night life scene as well.
